Mrs. Woolis ILD grades 3-5

Welcome to our class webpage!  My name is Christa Woolis and I am currently the teacher of the ILD grades 3-5 self-contained class at School # 10. There is also 1 paraprofessional who is working with us this year. Her name is Mrs. Palez (Ms. Angela). This is my 15th year teaching in the Belleville Public School System. Since coming to Belleville in 2003, I have worked as a self- contained teacher in the PLD (K-3) class and as a resource room teacher on both the elementary and high school level. Prior to Belleville I worked in private schools in Newark and Livingston. In 2001 I completed my undergraduate degree at Felician University where I earned BA’s in Special Education and Psychology and a Teacher of the Handicapped Certification.

My philosophy on education is that everyone is unique in their own way, and has their own way of learning and attaining information. I believe in a hands on multi-sensory approach to learning that is rich with real life experiences in a well-supported and caring environment. I encourage students to be their best personal selves and try their hardest no matter what obstacles they may be facing. In my classroom I promote team work and an open line of communication between the home and school life.

Parents, please feel free at any time to contact me via email or by sending in a note with your child. I look forward to working with you closely and having a very successful school year!
